Buoyancy is the upward force of an object that is produced by surrounding gas or liquid, like water. The secret to buoyancy lies in the ability of objects to float in water or air. An object will have buoyancy dependent on two main factors, the amount of water an object displaces and the density of an object. If the average density of an object is less than that of a fluid it floats in the fluid at such a level that the weight of the object is equal to the weight of the displaced fluid.
