Bohr diagrams is a system consisting of a small dense nucleus surrounded by revolving electrons with attraction provided by electrostatic forces rather than gravity. Niels Bohr proposed the model in 1913. It was a radical departure from earlier classical descriptions and was the first that incorporated quantum theory and the predecessor of quantum mechanical models. The model describes the properties of atomic electrons in terms of a set of allowed possible values. atoms absorbed or admit radiation only when the electrons abruptly jump between states.
